If you were at DataHack Summit 2024, chances are you didn’t just witness the GenAI revolution –  you played with it, battled it, laughed with it, and maybe even tried to flirt against it. The GenAI Playground, a DataHack Summit exclusive, was introduced in 2023 as an immersive creative zone. It quickly became the most buzzing corner of the conference floor. It has had two amazing and most exciting editions. And this year, in 2025, it is coming back bigger, sharper, and even more interactive.

So what made last year’s Playground a show-stealer? Let’s walk you through the unforgettable experiences from 2024, not just to relive the magic, but to give you a taste of what to expect this time around, at DataHack Summit 2025.

AI, But Make It Fun

The idea behind the Playground was simple: show how Generative AI is no longer confined to news, labs, or research papers. It’s playful, social, emotional, and deeply embedded in how we create, communicate, and express ourselves.

The booths weren’t static demos. They were dynamic, hands-on experiences. Each one had put attendees in control, allowing them to co-create with AI and explore what’s now possible across entertainment, art, personal insight, and more.

Here’s what stole the spotlight in 2024:

Prompt Battle Ground (P.B.G)

PBG

This was a full-on AI arena. Four participants. One image. 90 seconds to craft the most accurate Midjourney prompt possible. As rounds advanced, the challenge shifted from visual prompts to code generation, pushing creativity and logic to the edge. What started as a game, quickly became a crowd-puller. Spectators cheered as players flexed their prompt engineering skills, and cash prizes worth ₹2.25 Lakhs made the stakes real. It was energetic, competitive, and made one thing clear: prompting is a skill worth mastering.

Flirt Fight: Human vs AI

FlirtFight | GenAI Playground

This quirky booth had rom-com vibes meets tech showdown. Participants squared off against an AI Avatar to deliver the best pick-up lines based on a chosen word. The twist? The audience voted live after each round. The leaderboard kept updating. The Avatar? Relentlessly charming. The crowd? In splits. This booth showcased how language models are getting increasingly nuanced and expressive, even in something as subjective as humor and flirtation.

AI Pandit

With the idea of this booth, the idea of palmistry and predictive analytics was brought together. AI Pandit added a mystical twist to GenAI. Attendees scanned their palms to receive AI-generated predictions across love, career, health, and more. The Compatibility Test, a fun add-on, let people check how well they match with friends or coworkers. It was a brilliant mix of tradition and tech, with AI decoding human curiosities in a way that felt both personal and playful.

Photo booths got an AI upgrade here. The idea was for you to walk in with a friend, snap a picture, and then use enchanting prompts to transform each other’s faces, outfits, backgrounds, even hairstyles. It wasn’t just editing, it was collaborative creativity. The booth handed out instant printouts, and social feeds were flooded with these magical transformations. Think of it as AI-powered digital cosplay. It was fast, fun, and fantastical.

StarWalk

StarWalk

Ever wanted to strut like your favorite celebrity? Well, this booth gave the attendees a chance to do just that. StarWalk used MediaPipe technology to make it happen. Attendees mimicked iconic celebrity walks, while the system broke down their movements frame by frame. Posture insights, confidence scores, and detailed comparisons made this booth one of the most engaging physical-AI hybrids on the floor. You walked in curious and walked out with swagger (or at least some notes on your stride).

Beyond the Fun

The GenAI Playground wasn’t just about entertainment. What stood out was that it sparked conversations about AI accessibility, human-AI collaboration, and the emerging role of generative tools in everyday life. Attendees who played in the booths often ended up in hack sessions, panels, or workshops, diving deeper into the tech behind the fun. That blend of play and purpose? That’s what made the GenAI Playground so impactful.

What to Expect in 2025?

Now, here’s the exciting part –  the GenAI Playground is returning for DataHack Summit 2025. And if you thought last year was mind-blowing, this year’s edition is set to be even more immersive.

Expect:

  • New challenges that push prompt engineering to new limits.
  • Interactive storytelling booths where you co-create tales with AI in real time.
  • Enhanced physical-digital experiences that blend movement, gesture, and voice.
  • Multiplayer creative games – because collaborative AI is the next big thing.
  • And yes, even more personalized and shareable experiences you won’t want to miss.

Whether you’re a technologist, designer, content creator, or just someone curious about how AI is reshaping imagination –  the Playground is your zone and you should definitely try it (we insist!).

Conclusion

The GenAI Playground is not just a showcase, it’s a living demo of what happens when technology empowers creativity. Last year, we explored the edges of what AI could do. This year, we go further. Ready to experience it for yourself? The future is here already, and it’s more fun than you imagined.
